that's it.
yeah.
incase you didn't realise.
i know that germany lost.

the germans just lost it.
they absolutely did not gel.
and well - the result was no surprise.

but you dare not tell me
the germans played their best and lost.
you'd be barking mad.
this match was not a contest.
so do not tell me after watching
the portugal match, the poland match,
and even in some weird way -
the resilience against the turks...
that germany was only capable of the final show.

and for god's sake. let the past be the past.
i've had enough of the -
"oh, they've won it 3 times in the past anyway.
the spaniards have had a 44 year drought."
that does not make one team more deserving or less.

enough of the "oh. they are efficient.
they can make comeback goals hell easily."
were the commentators blind to the dejection
on the team's faces as the match went on?
or did they think they were emotionless robots?

so this has nothing to do with spain winning.
i watched them play.
saw the awful match against italy,
saw the brilliant one against russia -
and i can't bring myself to hate them.

it has everything to do with letting me,
in peace, brood over my team's disappointment.

after all, this is the one team which
gets slammed terribly when it loses -
"they didn't play well"
and when it wins -
"they didn't deserve it".

this is the team which walks out
with so much more to lose every single time.

and this is the generation of players
who has come closer to a win more frequently
than any else. and still waiting.
stop treating them like that's the easiest place to be.

and yeah. i'm genuinely upset.
seriously.
i didn't expect this.
but i am.

i invested some amount of emotional baggage
on the final game.
with a house full of people, a really stressful holiday,
a rubbish ct run, incessant bugging by sdevi,
and a looming piano exam -
euro was a gift of a distraction.

coupled with severe monday blues,
taunting by people - many who didn't follow the games
or truly support a team,
and general panic related to the 3 months left -
i'm in a sour mood.

so just let me be for a week or so.
and feel for the team which uplifted me
countless times this past month.
