the list.
it goes without saying (but i'm gonna say it anyway) that i have very unkindly ignored my blog for a considerable length of time - and in doing so, flushed resolution number 4 down the toilet. conceivably, it should come as no surprise that resolution no. 1 stood no chance whatsoever, and in hindsight, resoultion 3 is downright laughable.
this leaves us with two resoultions. i'm leaving resolution 2 there, cause i'd like to believe that i believe in miracles - if it does come to pass, i'll be treating the readers of this blog (vinithra and priya) to sundaes.
essentially, resolution no. 5 can still be salvaged. and since it is oh-so-perfectly clear that my willpower and long-term plans do not coalesce, i will adopt a more immediate, and perhaps more feasible, plan that nav recently (2 hours ago) talked me into:
The List, to be executed by the end of the semester.
1. after-school trip to holland village for ice-cream
2. after-school pool game - safra or raffles hall
3. intra-campus trip to btc
4. inter-campus trip to ntu
5. dressing up like mangammas for school (nav wants to "try some fancy things wit eyeshadow")
6. sitting around for hours at the fass canteen like mangammas, simultaneously people-watching - preferably done on the same day we're dressed like mangammas for school
7. going out for ladies night - defintely NOT when we're dressed like mangammas, unless the target destination happens to be jeans (which should not be the case unless either of the priyas have their way)
so blog, i hope The List materialises. expect an update in 2 and a half months - worst case.
but just before i leave - a little ode to insanity if you will:
'twas a steamy afternoon
in lecture theatre eight.
surprise, surprise, i was there
not a second late.
the lecturer said "alright kids
settle down and listen,
we're going to watch a video clip
this sing. studies lesson."
an-tho-ny bourdain came on,
that cooking show of his.
he'd come down to sin-ga-pore,
to try our food and drinks.
one point makan-sutra-man
was his local guide.
they went to a hawker centre in the
middle of the night.
first they tried a shark's head dish,
i wondered if that's legal.
then came the chilli crabs,
and here is where we giggle.
makansutra-man asks his guest
"wanna know something crazy?
sri-lankan crabs these may be,
but their diets're a little wacky.
they used to feed on (wait-for-it)
floating, rotten corpses!
this was before they were caught
in the holy river ganges!"
an-tho-ny bourdain looks up
in awe and aquiescence.
am i the only one to have
caught the raving madness!?
SRI-LANKA the guy had said,
did no-one understand?
i always thought the ganges flowed
in good-old hindustan!
looking forward to 10-straight weeks of chuck bass,
radhika.
